Hi all,
Well its been a bit too long hasnt it since I put some news up and naturally loads has been happening since that time..
Importantly I have just recorded 11 new tracks for an upcoming new album which will be released in April 2012, all recorded at the Drysdale Manor so stay please stay tuned for that.Loads of humour, wit, reflection, cynicism and road stories in this lot..Ya gonna love it!!
As always Ive been doing loads of gigs since returning from last years OS tour and I performed at Maldon Folk Festival and Bridgetown Blues Festival toward the end of 2011.
2012 has started with a bang too, and ive already performed at the wonderful Thredbo Blues Festival and as I write this from my humble motel room in Albury, im just returning from the music marathion known as Tamworth Country Music Festival and am now on route to te Newstead Live Festival for 2 shows there..
And just because I hate to rest and my feet are constantly itchy, im doing two Victorian shows next weekend 4th and 5th Feb, and on the 8th a great show at the Prince Of Wales titled Black Icons, a tribute to Coloured Stones album Koonibba Rock from a collection of great indigenous artists
The following weekend im off to Goulburn Blues Festival for 3 shows there and after that it hits mid Feb where im then on tour in Tasmania for 4 shows, and at the end of the month and into March, im doing 7 shows in and around Cairns in North Queensland..
March also sees me at the Eel festival and in April I cant wait to get back to perform at the amazing National Folk Festival..The biggy!!!
If that ain't enough folks im then off OS again and will be doing a run in Germany with dates to come soon , but it will involve 4 weeks of shows there with a return visit to the Shetland Folk Festival right in the middle of that. A wonderful festival that I have very very fond memories of and a privelege to be asked back..This will be a wonderful time for me as I will be performing with 2 fellow musos that I met in Shetland back in 2008..Perry Stenback and Steffan Sorensson both from Denmark and both stunning instrumenatlists. I cant wait to perform with them both.
After Shetland I return to Germany to continue the tour there and in late May folks is where the fun really begins.. YESSSSS its finally happening folks, Rory Ellis and genius Punk Poet, Atilla the Stockbroker are on their first full on UK tour together in May and June 2012..
We have been great mates since we first met in 2004, in fact we have both agreed that we were brothers seperated at birth somehow, and yes we have done the odd show together ,but this is the first time we are joining forces and hitting the road together for a series of double billed shows all over the UK. Its gonna be the most entertaining series of nights imaginable full of wit, humour, filth and fun, hell we may even throw in some charm for good measure but don't bank on it.. There are a bunch of dates already posted on my gigs page with loads more to come..If you see one live show a year make it one of these.. Okay folks im sure i'll think of more to write very soon
